Google Drive and R11

Google Drive is where most solar contractors already keep their job documents: a folder per customer holding the contract, the plan set, the permit, the site photos, and the inspection paperwork.

Where it stops

Document management is usually the part of a software purchase where a contractor quietly loses control of their own files. The system holds the documents, so leaving the system means extracting years of paperwork from it, and every job's folder now lives somewhere the office has to log in to reach. Meanwhile the folder the team actually looks in, the one in the company's own Drive, goes stale.

What R11 does with it

• Documents are filed into that customer's existing folder in the Drive account your company already owns, so the folder your team already opens is the one that stays current.
• If you stopped using R11 tomorrow, your documents would not move. They are already in your Drive, in your folders, under your admin's control.
• Every upload and every removal is written to an audit log you can read, so there is a record of what R11 put where and when.

Questions

Can R11 read our other files?

R11 reads only what it filed there itself. It puts documents into the customer folder and reads that back; the rest of your Drive is none of its business.

Can R11 delete our documents?

The only file R11 can ever move to the trash is one it uploaded itself, and it writes that to the audit log when it does. It cannot trash or delete a document your team put in the folder.

What happens to our documents if we stop using R11?

Nothing. They are in your Google Drive, in your own folders, in the account your company controls. There is no export step and no vendor to ask, because the files were never held anywhere else. Your admin can disconnect R11 from the Drive at any time.
